As you've probably figured out by now, I do a LOT of golfing! Because I get to see a lot of courses and play a lot of greens, I've decided to have a do keep an official reviews page for all the courses I play.

Here's a quick breakdown of my ratings system:

-- Poor
1 ball
2 balls
3 balls
4 balls
-- Average
-- Good
-- Awesome

August 19th, 2009

So I know that I haven't done this in a while but I found a new course that I was told I HAD to play. It's called Trinatas, which I have no idea what that means except for HARD ASS Golf course. It's in Valley Springs, which I'm lucky I found my way there, and truth be told I did get lost. Thanks to my co-pilot being my dad.

Here's a look at my afternoon at Trinitas....

So here's the opening hole. A really cool hole that lets you bail out if your a puss, or hit it over the trees and leave a pitch in. I pitched to far and made bogey.

This is the first par 3 you see on the course and it's pretty damn cool with the moat infront of the green. Needless to say I bailed out left but still got up and down bitches!!!!!!!!

So, I don't really remember what holes these are I just know that they were damn tough!!!!!! And I know for a fact that I didn't do well on them.

I think that my dad is looking for a place to go to the bathroom, too bad he's on a teebox!!!

This is a look at the 600 plus yard par 5. It has two dog legs and the last two hundred yards are straight up a hill. I picked up my ball after about 10 shots.

I believe this is the 14th hole and it's really an amazing hole. You have a huge elevation drop which means you can bomb the hell out of it and knock it on with no problem. Yes, I made par thanks to my birdie lipping out!

It was hard for me to decide which hole to finish with, so I went with 17. It's a par 3 that's only about 130 yards long but it has a creek running underneath the hole. I have never seen that before.

So here is my overall rating for Trinitas...
Ok, so I have to say that this is not the easiest golf course in the world to play. I know that the course record is only 2 under. The thing that I really did like about the course was that the guy who owns it actually designed it himself, and really did a cool job of laying out the course. Even though for my tastes there were a few too many forced lay ups on such a long course.
Staff/
Service:
4 Balls. We treated like kings when we got out there and it wasn't just because I'm a big celebrity. Plus the sandwiches they brought out to us were pretty damn good as well, and the Dr. Pepper.
Greens:
2 balls. The one thing I really take notice of now on courses is the flow of the course. Like if it has a bunch of big greens or small greens. This course had both, so it kind of through me off on where to hit the ball, if I could actually hit a green.
Fairways:
4 balls. I couldn't believe that I would actually get some roll out of some fairways in Northern California. So many course over water and soak the fairways that even in August the ball plugs instead of rolls out, so job very well done.
Overall
Rating:

3 balls. I really did enjoy seeing this golf course and playing it even though it is really REALLY hard. It makes the Dragon(which is closed now I think) look like an executive course. The one thing that I didn't like was on 18 a 570 yard par 5, you had to hit your tee shot only 240 yards at the most. I'm a firm believer that on ALL par 5's you should be able to hit driver and not worry about it. But all in all it is a challenge for ANY golfer.
