SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT ONE LAST TIME

I began Friday’s show by announcing that I would no longer engage in policy discussions regarding the presidential candidates and the 2008 presidential election as it relates to rumors and facts and I have every intention of sticking to that pledge.

On Thursday, we spent the entire program talking about the previous night’s final presidential debate and the upcoming election. During the show, I did my best to try to explain various policy positions of each side, with most questions, concerns and comments being about Barack Hussein Obama. In the wake of Thursday’s show, which was a rare venture for us down the road of a one topic program, I was inundated and besieged with talking points and false accusations.

The truth of the matter is that I have neither the time nor the inclination to engage in the politics of personal destruction, ignorance or flat out dishonesty. Those of you who do so sicken me to a level I simply cannot describe and I have no desire to be associated with you and that is why I simply will not engage any longer in trying to explain nuances of either campaign. I will moderate phone calls and discussions on the show and will happily debate other issues, such as whether or not race will be a factor, how the electoral college works, or whether Sarah Palin is qualified, but on topics such as campaign promises, understanding tax plans, actual historical events and the like, I want no part of it.

I guess I should have known better. We are only a couple of weeks away from the latest presidential election that we’re told “is the most important of our lives,” which is the greatest exaggeration I have ever heard in my life. Spare me your phony self-importance. Deciding which of two mediocre men is the lesser of two evils hardly qualifies as a top 10 event in the greatest nation on Earth’s history list. As the election nears, people get very serious, very vicious and totally attached to whatever decisions and ideology they behold. Subsequently, it literally becomes a definition of who they are to see their candidate win, lest they be attached to the losing side, something that many of you seem to take personally, a reaction that is way beyond me.

This is nothing more than the continuation of the epidemic in America of needing to be right, not caring about being correct. Most of you, when challenged, do not seek out the truth, but instead try to find someone, anyone, who will find a way to tell you that you are right. Facts are not important, reassurance is. Most of you care more about protecting your image and being told you are right, rather than actually learning what the truth is.

People like me loathe this shift in America. Unfortunately, I am in the minority; a vast minority. All it takes is someone hearing something, somewhere, said by anybody, and it suddenly becomes fact. You need look no further than the totally false lies told about Barrack Hussein Obama more than a year ago via a mass email, which to this day are repeated as truth, despite the fact that they have all been proven 100% abjectly false:

- He’s a Muslim
- He doesn’t put his hand on his heart during the pledge of allegiance
- He was sworn into office on the Koran, not the Bible

All false, as reported by me from day one, yet still to this day believed by thousands if not millions, just because someone, somewhere told them they were all true. Correcting America’s ignorance and total inability to be objective is exhausting, and I have had enough for this election cycle.

For one final hurrah, I will address a couple of the patently false assertions thrown my way last week. I realize that the accusers don’t care about the truth because if they did, they would have found out on their own how wrong they were. I guess I just want to, one final time, set the record straight:

BILL CLINTON TURNED DOWN AN OPPORTUNITY TO CAPTURE OSAMA BIN LADEN IN 1996:

Despite left-wing blogs and writers claiming this never happened, this is a fact, confirmed by multiple Clinton staffers and the President himself on multiple occasions, including a famous post-9/11 speech he gave in which he acknowledged such. Since then, however, sensing that his legacy was in question, he has simply denied what he said, a stunning piece of revisionist history. Those of you who choose to believe that he never passed up Bin Laden and never admitted that he did are literally refusing to believe your own lying eyes and ears. Such delusion is beyond my comprehension. Just because multiple left-win blogs support your idiocy doesn’t make it true. Clinton, his supporters and those of you who feel the need to believe that there’s no way this actually happening are engaging in the political version of the Jedi Mind Trick by waving your hand in front of America’s face and uttering “it is all an illusion.”

BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA’S TAX PLAN WILL RAISE SMALL BUSINESS TAXES TO MORE THAN 50%

I love those of you who have the audacity to say “that’s not what Obama says,” anytime his silly promises are challenged, as if he is actually telling you the truth. From Bush’s dad promising “no new taxes,” to Clinton promising a “middle class tax,” to W. Bush promising America wouldn’t “nation build,” our presidential candidates have a long, recent, storied history of one thing; lying to you to get elected. Perhaps the only thing more absurd than believing the spin that comes out of a candidates mouth is using the candidates’ website as a source when trying to tell me that I am wrong about one of their stupid promises, which happened in multiples last week as it relates to Obama’s devastating plan to destroy small businesses in America.

It’s fine if you believe that America should “spread the wealth,” and/or that rich people and successful businesses should be taxed into oblivion, I just demand that you have the courage to admit it. Don’t lie to me and tell me that Obama isn’t going to do that, because that’s exactly what his plan is. Either support the man’s policy or don’t, but at least have the decency to research what you are in fact supporting.

Remember also, that ignorance is never an excuse with me. If you hear me correctly state that Obama will increase the tax on the most successful small business by 15%, don’t run to Obama’s website to find out if it’s true. Furthermore, if you don’t know the differences between LLCs, S Corps, Sole Proprietors and all other forms of “small business,” then don’t try to use them against me with inane drivel quelled from Obama’s speeches and websites which simply twist words to create the illusion of truth. We have spoken ad nauseam on the show about other radio shows who claim to be “Reno or Sacramento’s #1 morning show,” on giant billboards. The small print, which you can’t read or are totally unaware of, is that they are referencing the results of a website poll taken on their radio station’s website. Hey, it’s not really a lie, just a total distortion of the truth, just like those of you who claim that Obama will cut taxes on 95% of Americans (an impossibility since 40% of you pay zero taxes) and/or that he won’t increase taxes dramatically on small businesses. You aren’t really lying, you’re just not telling anything close to the truth. Bravo.

As the horrible show “the X Files” use to say, the truth is out there. Claiming an inability to find or understand it is nothing more than an excuse used as a way to make yourself feel vindicated. Leave me out of it.
